SLC Stars Select Former UVU G Conner Toolson In NBA G League Draft

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Salt Lake City Stars, the NBA G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz selected four players in their annual draft. One of the players selected was former Utah Valley guard Conner Toolson.
He was selected in the third round, 73rd overall pick to the Stars and was the final pick in the draft for the Stars.
Toolson just finished his third and final season with the Wolverines.

In the three seasons in Orem, Toolson played in 99 games, starting in 92 contests. He averaged 12.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.4 steals in 30 minutes played per game. The Highland, Utah native played one season at Salt Lake Community College before transferring to UVU, while with the Bruins, he led them to the 2016 NJCAA national title. He is the son of former Jazz and BYU player Andy Toolson.
The Stars selected three other players in the G League draft. Their first pick was in the second round, 35th overall selection, when they picked guard Shanw Occeus from Northeastern. The second pick of the second round (45th overall) for Salt Lake City was Kyle Castlin from Xavier. The last selection before Toolson in the third round (61st overall) was Shelton Mitchell from Clemson.
Salt Lake City will begin training camp on Monday, October 28. They will open the 2019-20 season on Sunday, November 10 at Sioux Falls before playing their home opener on Friday, November 15 at 7 p.m. against Rio Grande Valley.
