MLS All Stars To Host Liga MX All Stars In Unprecedented Summer Fixture

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Major League Soccer in conjunction with Liga MX has announced that this year’s All-Star event will see a team of MLS All-Stars takes on a team of Liga MX All-Stars in a first of its kind fixture.
The match will take place at Banc of America Stadium in Los Angeles California on Wednesday, August 25 and will be broadcast on FS1 and Univision.
“Fans have been looking forward to this historic matchup for more than a year, and we have no doubt the 2021 MLS All-Star Game presented by Target will prove to be worth the wait,” said MLS Commissioner Don Garber. “A game of this magnitude in Los Angeles, played in front of incredible fans in one of the greatest soccer stadiums in global soccer, is unlike anything our sport has seen. This event is a perfect expression of the groundbreaking partnership that continues to build between MLS and LIGA MX.”

The recent announcement adds to the growing list of events that MLS and Liga MX are both involved in. Real Salt Lake recently announced that Rio Tinto Stadium would host Club America and Santos Laguna in a friendly exhibition match on July 4. Leagues Cup and Campeones Cup are other marquee tournaments that host clubs from both leagues.

LAFC manager Bob Bradley will play the role of Manager for the MLS All-Stars.
