SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – As the curtain draws to a close for the Premier League season 2020/21, we’re left with one last round to find out who will be playing Champions League soccer for next season. Chelsea, Liverpool or FA Cup winners, Leicester City.

Just a few weeks ago Liverpool looked absolutely out of the race for a top-four finish. But an excellent run of form has seen them go on a run of nine unbeaten matches that includes seven wins, with a current streak of four wins on the bounce. It allows them to go into the last game of the season in fourth position, but only a win will guarantee they hold onto that position. Their marker is to match Leciester’s result, if they do then the Foxes who are in fifth wouldn’t be able to go above them. Chelsea are currently holding on to third position by a single point.

All games kick-off at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday. You should be able to catch them all on Peacock, but below I’ll add the other channels where you can catch the full round.

We will bid farewell to West Brom manager, Sam Allardyce, as he steps down after the Baggies relegation to the Championship, and also Roy Hodgson of Crystal Palace, who at the age of 73 will likely retire.

La Liga in Spain comes to a head on Saturday as league leaders Atletico Madrid look to hang on and claim a title which would be their first since 2013/14, and their 11th overall. They will be on the road against Real Valladolid, whilst their arch-rivals and the only ones that can catch them, Real Madrid will host Villarreal.

Valladolid need a win if they want to survive relegation…And Villarreal will likely need to win as they chase Europa League qualification. Nothing is set in stone and both matches will have huge ramifications.

In France, we have the championship weekend for Ligue 1 which kicks off late on Sunday. As Lille currently hold on to the top spot over the powerhouse, Paris Saint Germain by one point, with PSG having a superior goal difference.

Lille will be on the road against Angers, whilst reigning champions PSG will go to Brest, hoping that Angers can somehow help them. Angers and Brest have nothing to play for, as both are safe from relegation and nowhere near the hunt for European places.

Lille will be hoping to win just their fourth ever Ligue 1 title, and their first since the 2010/11 season

Back to the EPL. As we’ve seen some of the craziest soccer moments in the last few weeks. With fan protests. Goalkeepers scoring injury-time winners, and two teams going at it hammer and tongs resulting in a few fisty cuffs between Chelsea and Leicester, with the Blues probably a little sore from their F.A. Cup defeat to the Foxes from last weekend. Managers in heated exchanges at the final whistle, whilst other managers going out swinging in post-game interviews.

In a strange and sometimes lethargic season, we finally got fans back in the stadiums midweek, and it completely changed the energy and vibe in all the stadiums and TV coverage.

The final day fixtures are as follows:

  • Arsenal v Brighton – Peacock Premium
  • Aston Villa v Chelsea – USA
  • Fulham v Newcastle United – Peacock Premium
  • Leeds United v West Brom – Peacock Premium
  • Leicester City v Spurs – NBCSN
  • Liverpool v Crystal Palace – NBC/KSL 5
  • Man City v Everton – CNBC
  • Sheffield United v Burnley – Peacock Premium
  • West Ham v Southampton – Peacock Premium
  • Wolves v Manchester United – Golf

Kick back and enjoy the finale. Thanks for tuning in, and I’ll catch you next season where we’ll eagerly await all the new kits being released, multiple transfers and we gear up with hope in our hearts that once again it’ll be our team’s year.

Catch you in August.
