Darian Stevens Advances To Medal Round In Women’s Big Air Qualifying

SALT LAKE CITY – Canada’s Meghan Oldham and France’s Tess Ledeux lead the field of twelve qualifiers for the freestyle skiing women’s big air competition at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.
Qualifiers for the big air final were held on Sunday, February 6.
Of four Americans competing in the event, only Darian Stevens and her eighth place finish, will be advancing to the medal round. Steven’s had an opening run of 84.75, good enough for seventh overall after a single run.

Americans Marin Hamill (14th), Maggie Voisin (15th) and Caroline Claire (24th) will not advance to the tomorrow’s final.
Oldham’s qualifying high run of 91.25 came on her second run, securing her spot in the final well before her third run.

Anastasia Tatalina (Russian Olympic Committee), Sandra Moestue Eie (Norway) and Eileen Gu (China) rounded out the top five.
The final is scheduled for 7 p.m. (MDT) on Monday, February 7.
