SALT LAKE CITY- Sports fans waking up on April First are having to navigate the social media world carefully as many teams and outlets are releasing parank posts for the occasion.
Here are some of the best April Fools’ posts from around the country that got some fans as they woke up on April 1.

The Football Field Color Switch
On April 1 every year, one of the classic jokes that college programs, in particular, like to pull is the football field color switch.

And it doesn’t just have to be the football field. This Louisiana Tech baseball fan switched up the colors of the diamond, and Western Kentucky got in on the fun by putting their mascot Big Red on center court.

This is mainly an attempt to get fans riled up about how goofy the football field would look if it was entirely the team’s primary color, but some of these spoof designs actually have fans pawning for a switch. One example from today is Arizona State.

The post is obviously a joke, and most fans caught on pretty quickly, but the comments below were flooded with the opinion that even if it was really, it might actually be kind of cool!

The origin of this one comes from the “Smurf Turf” of Albertsons Stadium at Boise State University. The football field received its name because of its blue color and remains one of the most talked about playing surfaces in all of sports.

This is also why when someone tried to pull this prank in regards to Boise State’s field, it looks a little bit different. Instead of switching their turf to Boise State Blue, which it already is, they tell fans that they are switching to the traditional green.

Tiger Woods Gears Up For The Masters
Back on March 11, 15-time major champion Tiger Woods announced that while he was practicing at his own home, he ruptured his Achilles tendon and underwent surgery to repair it.

While a ruptured Achilles can take anywhere between 4-6 months before someone can even get back to high-impact activity, Tiger Woods took to X on Tuesday morning, announcing that through some sci-fi type treatment, he was ready to compete in The Masters next week.

He quickly came back to confirm the joke, telling his fans that he is still very early in the recovery process.

The Torpedo Bat Phenomenon
The words “Torpedo Bat” meant nothing to the baseball world just a week ago, but when the New York Yankees rolled out the peculiar-looking bat and then proceeded to tie an MLB record by hitting 15 home runs in their first three games, it suddenly became a household phrase.
There seems to be a lot of confusion about the Yankees new torpedo-style bats, but they are perfectly legal.
MLB bats must be made from one piece of solid wood, be no more than 2.61 inches in diameter at their thickest part, and not exceed 42 inches in length.

The bats are the same length and weight as any player’s normal bat, but the barrel is moved down the bat, closer to the player’s hands and more in the area where the ball makes contact.
The torpedo bats have been the topic of conversation during this opening week of the MLB, leading to the Durham Bulls, Triple-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays, posting a photo telling fans that they would be using actual torpedos during their game today.

Fans Become Sceptical Of Actual Breaking News
The April Fools’ flood of fake news and misinformation has made it difficult for some to differentiate the lies from actual information that insiders are trying to convey.
For example, the NFL voted on several rule changes involving overtime policies and first down measurements.

NFL owners now have passed a rule that both teams will be allowed to possess the ball in overtime in the regular season.
The original proposal was for a 15 minute OT; that now has been amended to 10 minutes.
