SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – sports.ksl.com’s Bracket of Movies continues with a matchup of the No. 3-seed Field of Dreams facing No. 30-seed The Longest Yard.
Field of Dreams was released in 1989, starring Kevin Costner, James Earl Jones and Ray Liotta. Costner is an Iowa corn farmer, who interprets the voices that he hears to build a baseball diamond in the fields. That’s how the 1919 Chicago White Sox come along.
The underdog in the matchup was released in 1974 with Burt Reynolds starring as a former professional quarterback, who is serving time in prison. He puts together a team of inmates to face the guards on the gridiron. They remade the film in 2005 starring Adam Sandler and Chris Rock.
