Social Media Reacts To MyKayla Skinner Winning Silver Medal At Tokyo Olympics

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Social media went crazy when Red Rocks legend and Team USA Gymnast MyKayla Skinner won the Silver Medal in the vault final.

MyKayla Skinner replaced Simone Biles in the vault final and was able to take home the Silver Medal on Sunday morning. It was looking like Skinner’s Olympic journey was going to be cut short after not qualifying for the individual events but had the fourth-highest vault score at qualifications, which made her eligible to compete in that event as a replacement for Biles.

“Hey guys, it’s MyKayla Skinner, your vault Silver Medalist,” Skinner said on Twitter. “This is so cool. I can’t believe this happened. I just wanted to thank all of my friends, family and fans for everything you have done. You guys have seriously been supporting me through it all through the ups and downs. Thank you for never giving up on me. I know all of you back home have been cheering once the news came out that I would be in the vault lineup and you knew that I had been wanting this so, so bad. Thank you all so much. I love you and all dreams do come true so don’t forget, never give up.”
