Utah Has National Champion Caliber Defensive Line, Like Clemson’s

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Yogi Roth, Pac-12 Analyst, got to see more of the Utes than any local media has last week during fall camp. He was able to watch the team practice and was impressed with (no surprise) Utah’s defensive front.
He shared a complimentary comparison between the Utes and last year’s national champions.
During an interview on Crimson Corner, a podcast about University of Utah athletics, Roth compared Utah’s 2019 defensive line to Clemson’s defensive front last year when they won the national title.

“I don’t know how they don’t remind you of Clemson last year,” said Roth.
The Clemson Tigers, with their nationally feared defensive line, clobbered Alabama in last year’s championship game with a score of 44-16.
College football guru Phil Steele rated Utah’s line as the best in the country.
“That front really sets the tone for everything,” said Roth, “You can ruin game plans in you’re special upfront and I think they are.”
Like last year’s Tiger D Line, Utah’s current line is stacked with returning seniors like Bradlee Anae and preseason All-American Leki Fotu.

“It’s not like guys came back because they were second or third-round draft pick … they came back to win,” said Roth.
It’s not only the defense that brings back superstar seniors, but the offense is also returning star running back Zack Moss and quarterback Tyler Huntley.
“I think this team is primed to make a run,” Roth said bringing music to Ute fans ears.
