The Utah County High School Player of the Week is awarded each week to the top prep football players in Utah County. It honors athletes for their performances on the gridiron and exceptional play. Our winner this week was Skyridge quarterback Jagger Fountaine.
Utah County Player of the Week – Jagger Fountaine, Skyridge
As region 3 action kicked off, two 6A hopefuls squared off when Lehi hosted Skyridge on a Thursday night. In an entertaining back and forth battle, it was Skyridge who came out on top behind a stellar performance from junior quarterback Jagger Fountaine. Jagger finished the night with 342 passing yards and 3 touchdowns, plus added a rushing touchdown as the Falcons would prevail 28-20. A strong start defensively from both teams, Jagger broke the deadlock with a little over a minute left to go in the first quarter thanks to a 3 yard touchdown run. Lehi would tie up the score with a defensive touchdown in the second quarter, quickly followed by a 54-yard touchdown pass for Jagger’s second touchdown of the night.

With the teams all tied up at 14-14 at halftime, Jagger connected with Omarian Sanders for a 4 yard passing touchdown to retake the lead halfway through the third quarter. Lehi marched down the field on the following drive, scoring another touchdown. Jagger and the offense would take over and connected on a 54-yard passing touchdown to Malosi Shepard with 1:34 left in the third quarter. Skyridge retook the lead, and the defense would take over in the fourth quarter to see out the win for the Falcons.
