Zack Moss Breaks Utah Career Rushing Record

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – University of Utah star running back Zack Moss has passed Eddie Johnson’s record for most career rushing yards in Utah football history.
Entering the game against Arizona State, Moss needed just 55 yards to pass Johnson’s mark. He rushed for a 32-yard touchdown run on his 21st carry of the game and broke the record in the fourth quarter putting the Utes up 21-3 over the Sun Devils.
Breaking Johnson’s record was one of the reasons why Moss decided to return to Utah for his senior season rather than entering the NFL Draft.

When Moss was on the brink of passing Johnson, the Utah running back legend joined the Crimson Corner podcast and talked about his record being broken after holding the mark for 30 years.
“I am very excited for him (Moss),” Johnson said. “My record has been standing for 30 years now and that has been an accomplishment in it of itself. Zack is such a great player, is dominant and is obviously an NFL player. I think Zack is going to be a great person to hold that record, I think he is a guy who is smart and will do things in the community, he’ll uphold it (the title) and be a class act.”

The senior running back from Miami, Florida still has other records that are very reachable, including the most 100-yard rushing games in a career as he is currently tied with John White and Devontae Booker for 14 games and needs three rushing touchdowns to pass Del Rodgers for Utah’s all-time leader in career rushing touchdowns.
