UTAH UTES

Utah Football: Top Ten Prospects

Aug 2, 2024, 3:30 PM

SALT LAKE CITY – It’s been a pretty successful summer of recruiting for Kyle Whittingham’s Utah Football program. The Utes have secured 16 commitments in their 2025 recruiting class, 14 of which came from official visitors in June.

The Utes still have plenty of room to add to the class and they are prominently in the picture for a handful of key prospects. There are a few prospects that are closing in on commitments, while there are some that could become a greater focus this fall.

Utah will continue to pursue top targets that are committed elsewhere but here are the top ten prospects the program is currently in the mix with.

Who are the top 10 Utah Football prospects?

1. Jerome Myles, WR

Little doubt that Myles is the top target for Utah this cycle. The Corner Canyon product is a very talented receiver, who continues to see his recruitment grow. He’s recently added offers from USC, Ohio State, LSU, and Georgia. At 6-foot-2 and 210 pounds, Myles has eye-popping athletic qualities for his size.  Myles recruitment will continue to grow and there will be plenty of twists and turns over the next few months. According to a source familiar with this recruitment, Utah has made it clear to him how big of a priority he is to them this cycle. This is going to be a very intense recruitment but Utah is committed to the long haul in his recruitment.

2. Iose Epenesa, DE

After absolutely knocking it out of the park on his official visit back in June, the Utes have been at the forefront of the conversation for the five-star defensive lineman, which also includes Iowa and Miami. According to a couple of sources in the industry, the Utes do seem to be a top two option for him. The Hawkeyes are going to be tough to top given Epenesa’s family history with the program, which is similar to the Barton family & Utah. A decision is on the horizon, as Epenesa wants to announce before his senior season kicks off on August 30th and perhaps even before school begins on August 14th.

3. Aaron Dunn, OL

In a loaded class of quality big men, Dunn is considered the top offensive lineman in the state this year. His recruitment reflects that as well, as he’s taken official visits to BYU, Oregon, UCLA, USC, and Utah. It’s also worth mentioning that Texas A&M has made a very strong push over the last month or so but it seems they were unable to make up the sort of ground to crack Dunn’s top options. With five programs in hot pursuit, a source close to Dunn has indicated that this is really a top four of USC, Oregon, Utah, and UCLA a distant fourth behind the other three. With his commitment coming soon, all three of his top options still have a chance at landing his pledge.

4. Nathan Tilmon, S

The dynamic three-star safety is nearing a decision as he is set to announce his commitment to one of Texas, TCU, or Utah on August 10th. The Utes made a very strong impression on Tilmon and his family during his official visit back in June. However, his visits to Texas and TCU had a similar impact on him as well. He’s a wanted man by all three programs but according to a source, Utah is situated pretty favorably in his recruitment.

5. Carterrious Brown, WR

An athletic receiver out of the state of Texas, Brown has largely been off the radar this summer but he’s always been one that has had interest in Utah. He has a commitment date set for August 11th and will commit to one of Baylor, Colorado State, TCU, Texas, or Utah. Given that Brown did not visit Utah, officially or unofficially, at any point this offseason, a commitment to the Utes would be surprising. Regardless of where he commits, Brown wants to officially visit Utah this fall.

6. Arion Williams, OL

Williams is an under-the-radar prospect. At 6h-foot-3 and 270 pounds, he will remind Utah fans of former lineman Braeden Daniels. He has not had a big recruitment up to this point but he finally seems to be gaining traction on the trail. He holds five offers from Boise State, Fresno State, Hawaii, and Washington State, while his most recent offer (in May) came from Utah. Williams has taken one official visit to check out the Cougars in Pullman. He does not have any other visits scheduled, at least not yet, as Williams is in talks with Utah about locking in an official visit this fall.

7. Chevy Robinson, DE

A tenacious defensive edge type of player out of Hawaii. Robinson has started to gain more interest recently, which has included pursuit from Lewis Powell and Utah. Robinson will likely take a visit to Utah this fall. A good start to his senior season will be key for a handful of programs monitoring him closely.

8. Austin Pay, OL

Another top offensive lineman in the state, Pay has a number of big programs involved in his recruitment. There are strong family ties to BYU but Pay seems open to going through his recruitment and finding the best option for him. Utah is pushing to bring him in for an official visit this fall.

9. Roy Maafala, LB

An absolute thumper of a linebacker, Maafala has pretty prominent connections to Utah, including his uncle Chris Fuamatu-Maafala. His recruitment centers around Hawaii and Utah right now with the Utes owning a favorable spot in Maafala’s eyes.

10. Manamo’ui Muti, OL/DL

A tenacious big man who has some programs recruiting him to the defensive line and other programs to the offensive line. Muti has taken official visits to Arizona, California, UCLA, and Washington. He is nearing a decision, while Utah has been involved they do have ground to gain in his recruitment.
