Dear Cougar Nation,

I want to express my gratitude to God for blessing me with the opportunity to play the game I love at such an amazing place like BYU!! I want to thank my teammates who will be brothers for life, my coaches, fans, The ROC and everyone else who has supported me along the way!

I will always be extremely grateful for the love and support I received from everyone associated with BYU!

After much thought and prayer, I have decided to enter the transfer portal to pursue new opportunities in the final season of my college basketball career.

While this decision has been very difficult, I know my time at BYU has prepared me well for the next chapter in my basketball journey!

BYU will always be a very special place to me, and I wish nothing but continued success for the program moving forward!

Forever Grateful,

D Hall #30

Hall entered the Transfer Portal last season after former BYU head coach Mark Pope left for the Kentucky job. He opted to return to BYU to play for head coach Kevin Young.

Hall has one year of eligibility remaining left in his collegiate career.

Snapshot of the past season for Hall

The past season, Hall opened the year with a minor injury that sidelined him for the first four games. Then he was the starting guard alongside Egor Demin. The pairing only lasted seven games as Demin dealt with a knee contusion injury in December.

But when the Big 12 portion of the schedule began, BYU started with a 1-3 record. That led Kevin Young to move Dallin Hall to a reserve role off the bench.

Despite the bench role, Hall was a significant piece in BYU turning around the season and winning 11 of its final 13 games to help reach the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16. Hall scored 22 points in a double-overtime win at Iowa State in Ames on March 4.

Hall finished fourth in the Big 12 during league play in Assist/Turnover ratio at 2.5.

He finished the season averaging 6.8 points, 4.2 assists, and 2.2 rebounds on 40.2% shooting from the field.

Hall’s announcement to enter the portal brings BYU’s portal entries to three during the 2025 cycle, joining Kanon Catchings and Elijah Crawford.
