West Virginia at No. 22 Houston

  • November 1, 2025
  • Kickoff: 10 a.m. (MT)/11 a.m. (CT)
  • TV: FS1

Insider Predictions

  • Steve Bartle: Houston
  • Mitch Harper: Houston

Houston at home is no joke. Their defense has swagger and their offense is clicking—a tough matchup for a Mountaineers squad. At home, with crowd energy and tempo control, the Cougars look like the stronger pick this week. Coogs. -Bartle

Houston has a schedule that would look manageable. Could we see the Coogs in Arlington? No one seems to be entertaining that idea, but it’s possible. They take one step closer to that destination with a win over West Virginia. -Harper

UCF at Baylor

  • November 1
  • Kickoff: 10 a.m. (MT)/11 a.m. (CT)
  • TV: ESPNU

Insider Predictions

  • Steve Bartle: Baylor
  • Mitch Harper:

Baylor needs this one. The Bears are at home, under their own lights, with a chance to reclaim identity. UCF is dangerous on any given day but hasn’t shown full consistency. On Saturday, the Bears should make the most of the crowd, stakes and home rhythm. -Bartle

I’ll go with Baylor’s defense to show some fight this week, which hasn’t been a common occurrence this year. Bears get it done, barely. -Harper

Arizona State at Iowa State

  • November 1
  • Kickoff: 11 a.m. (MT)/Noon (CT)
  • TV: TNT

Insider Predictions

  • Steve Bartle: Iowa State
  • Mitch Harper: Iowa State

The Cyclones gave away an opportunity to secure a valuable win last week. But the Sun Devils have now lost their leader, Sam Leavitt. At home, the Cyclones get the edge—they know what this stretch means and they bounce back. -Bartle

Arizona State is too banged up for me to pick them in this spot. Still, I don’t doubt that Kenny Dillingham will get the most out of his team, but I don’t expect them to take advantage of the concerns in the secondary for the Cyclones. The margins are thin between 5-3 and 8-0 for Iowa State, give me the Cyclones to end a three-game skid. -Harper

No. 13 Texas Tech at Kansas State

  • November 1
  • Kickoff: 1:30 p.m. (MT)/2:30 p.m. (CT)
  • TV: FOX

Insider Predictions

  • Steve Bartle: Texas Tech
  • Mitch Harper: Texas Tech

Kansas State comes in with some offensive momentum, and their recent performances suggest they’re ready to lean into big matchups. Texas Tech has a growing injury list, but the Red Raiders should still have plenty to get the win in Manhattan. -Bartle

The Red Raiders are looking for their first win in Manhattan since 2008. However, as I’ve said all year, stop applying past struggles to this Texas Tech team. Tech is one of the best teams in the land, and they show it again in a two-score win over K-State. -Harper

Oklahoma State at Kansas

  • November 1
  • Kickoff: 2 p.m. (MT)/3 p.m. (CT)
  • TV: ESPN+

Insider Predictions

  • Steve Bartle: Kansas
  • Mitch Harper: Kansas

Kansas opens things up with something to prove, and Oklahoma State will be present. The Jayhawks need a win and the Cowboys are just the team to get one against. -Bartle

I still can’t wrap my mind around how far Oklahoma State football has fallen. -Harper

Arizona at Colorado

  • November 1
  • Kickoff: 5 p.m. (MT)
  • TV: FS1

Insider Predictions

  • Steve Bartle: N/A
  • Mitch Harper: Colorado

Colorado looked like a team that quit last week at Utah, coming out of a bye week. Has the aura of Coach Prime faded away as the Buffs play on FS1? Maybe. But Colorado has shown to be a tough out in Boulder, give me the Buffs. -Harper

No. 17 Cincinnati at No. 24 Utah

  • November 1
  • Kickoff: 8:15 p.m. (MT)
  • TV: ESPN

Insider Predictions

  • Steve Bartle: Utah
  • Mitch Harper: Utah

This is the one the eyeballs are on: No. 17 Cincinnati travels to No. 24 Utah for a national-spotlight showdown. Cincinnati shows efficiency: strong protection, low turnovers, a balanced attack. Utah will have the home crowd, the dark mode setting, and desperation on their side. This is a must-win for Kyle Whittingham’s squad. It comes down to whether Utah can turn momentum into greater level execution. -Bartle

The loss of Cincinnati running back Evan Pryor is big in this one. I’ll go with Utah, which appears to be gaining a lot of momentum following the loss to BYU two weeks ago. -Harper
