Perrine Laffont from France won Bronze.

Olivia Giaccio and Tess Johnson finished 9th and 10th, respectively.

Olivia Giaccio

Giaccio started fast and nailed her first jump with huge air.

Halfway down the long, middle section of the course, a small technical mistake cost her valuable points.

She finished seventh at 75.81, with two skiers left.

Teammate Elizabeth Lemley followed with a great run that pushed Giaccio to the last qualifying spot for the medal round.

The final skier, Australia’s Charlotte Wilson, finished fifth, ending Giaccio’s medal hopes.

Tess Johnson

Final 1

Johnson was the 12th competitor to take the hill.

She looked good heading down the hill despite a small missed grab on one of her jumps.

A strong run moved Johnson into fourth with a 75.31.

After hearing her score, Johnson recharged by getting encouragement from a traveling contingent of friends and family.

Johnson was edged out of the top 8 when Lemley registered a 79.02.

Jaelin Kauf

Still needing to qualify for the medal round after a sub-par first qualifying round, Jaelin Kauf looked like a different person today.

The 29-year-old flew through the course with the second-best score of the round, scoring 77.18.

Final 1

Kauf seemed to find some momentum in her earlier run.

She exploded out of the gate and smoothly made her way down the course on a gorgeous attempt.

Kauf’s family exploded when her score of 80.13 was announced, placing her in the lead nearly halfway through the field.

Super Final

The former U of U standout used her third run of the day to record her best performance.

Kauf guaranteed herself a medal when she scored 80.77, the second-best score of the last round.

Australia’s Anthony Jakara tumbled on her attempt, giving Team USA Gold and Silver.
