SAN DIEGO, Calif. — Real Salt Lake extended its unbeaten streak, stealing a point following a late equalizer in San Diego on Sunday.
San Diego led 2-1 for much of the second half before Victor Olatunji became the match hero for RSL in the 85th minute. Sergi Solans was Real’s other goal scorer at Snapdragon Stadium.

First Half
The match started about as well as Real could have hoped.
After a San Diego miss and a penalty removed after a VAR check, RSL was first to get on the board in the 17th minute.
Off a beautiful cross from Juan Manuel Sanabria, Solans rose up for the header and notched his second score of the season.

But San Diego wasn’t about to go quietly.
The home side dominated possession in the first half and, as a result, had multiple threatening chances.
RSL goalkeeper Rafael Cabral made his first save in the 25th, but San Diego would break through with its second shot on goal in the 27th.
The balance in the first half was quality versus quantity. San Diego had possession for an overwhelming 72 percent of the first 45′. Yet, RSL still got off more shots, and just as many shots on goal.
Had the possession been more equal, the tide might’ve turned in Real’s favor. Instead, the first half came to a close with the score knotted at 1-1.

Second Half
The possession issue was addressed coming out of the break. Ironically, it didn’t play in Real Salt Lake’s favor at first.
San Diego was first on the board in the second half with Anders Dreyer’s goal in the 56th minute.
The scoring chances were not lacking for RSL, but they just couldn’t crack goalkeeper Duran Ferree. With three saves up until the 84th minute, a loss was looming large for the claret-and-cobalt.
But Olatunji had other plans.
Morgan Guilavogui served the ball on a silver platter in front of the goal, and he rushed in by the left post to even the score at 2-2.

Although RSL wasn’t out of the woods just yet, a red card shown to San Diego’s Christopher McVey all but guaranteed at least a point in hand.
And that reality came to fruition. Real held on through eight minutes of stoppage time to extend their unbeaten streak to four games.
