Utah Utes, Utah State Aggies renew football series with future matchups

SALT LAKE CITY — The Battle of the Brothers is a non-conference rivalry that is here to stay.
The University of Utah and Utah State University announced a home-and-home football series to take place in 2031 and 2033. The first will be in Logan and the second in Salt Lake City.

These two games are in addition to the 2030 game at Rice-Eccles Stadium. So, the Utes and Aggies will face off three times in four years as the 2030s arrive.
Those three matchups will bring the tally in the all-time series to 116 games.
With Utah State heading to the Pac-12 and Utah making waves in the Big 12, each game will almost certainly fall in the first month of each respective season. The two programs have not competed as conference foes since 1961.

Utah vs. Utah State football history
From 1892 to 2024, the Utah and Utah State football programs have played a total of 113 games. The Utes hold the advantage in the all-time series with 80 wins, 29 losses, and four ties.
Utah’s longest win streak in the series is 12 games and took place from 1998 to 2009. USU’s longest streak is only four, but it came during a period where the Aggies won 11 of 16 games.
Since the turn of the century, the Utes have won 13 of 14. The only Utah State win came in 2012 when the Aggies prevailed in an overtime slugfest at home.
