Week 4 of the Utah high school football season included Lone Peak's 38-14 loss to No. 8-ranked Bishop Gorman, Friday, Sept. 4, 2026.
HIGHLAND — Bishop Gorman sent a message in Friday night’s road trip to Lone Peak.
That message? The Gaels’ 33-28 loss a week prior to Miami’s Columbus wasn’t up to their standard.
They proved it against the Knights.
Tamatoa Gaoteote recovered a fumble for a touchdown as Bishop Gorman rolled to a 38-14 win over Lone Peak on KSL’s Game Night Live.
“That’s not how Gorman football was played last week,” Gaoteote told Game Night Live. “We just came in with a chip on our shoulder. Lone Peak is a great team, well-coached; they play hard. Lining up against them, we appreciate it because they’re a great team.”
Bishop Gorman converted the opening drive into a 30-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. But the Knights answered back, when Cruz Christensen capped a 13-play drive with a 6-yard TD strike to Ledger Holmes to tie the score at 7-7 with 3:52 left in the opening frame.

But the Gaels scored on three rushing touchdowns and a strip-sack with a 31-yard fumble recovery touchdown to take a 28-7 lead into halftime.
“We just do our jobs, our assignment, and executed it,” Gaoteote said of his scoop-and-score.
After an early field goal to open the second half, Kepa Niumeitolu let one fly with a 33-yard TD strike down the far sideline to stretch Gorman’s lead to 38-7 and the Gaels never looked back.
Ayden Laws pulled one back with a 10-yard touchdown snag with 6:41 remaining. But the Knights could get no closer.
Lone Peak will look to rebound next Friday when it hosts Timpview at 7 p.m. MT before opening region play Sept. 18 at Corner Canyon.
