Lillard’s 28 Not Enough; Warriors Sweep Blazers

PORTLAND, Ore. – Playing with a separated rib, former Weber State guard Damian Lillard gave everything he had. He scored 28 points, but the Portland Trail Blazers lost to the Golden State Warriors 119-117 in overtime and lose the series 4-0.
Lillard shot 11-of-24 from the field, including 4-of-12 from the three point line. He also dished out 12 assists.
He had 12 points in the first half with the show belonging to Meyers Leonard who had a career-high 25 points in the first 24 minutes.
In the third quarter, Lillard recorded 5 points on just 2-of-7 shooting from the field.
With their season on the line, Lillard scored 5 points on 2-of-8 shooting, while missing the potential game-winning shot at the end of regulation.
The Trail Blazers were scoreless in the first two minutes of overtime before Lillard dished an assist to Evan Turner.
He scored his first bucket of the overtime period with 34 seconds left to cut the Warriors lead to two points.

With 3.3 seconds left, Lillard hoisted a contested three-pointer in the corner and missed to give the Warriors the win and their fifth straight trip to the NBA Finals.
Lillard finished his seventh season in the NBA, averaging 25.8 points and 6.9 assists. He has two years remaining on his current contract.
