Milwaukee Bucks Officially Announce Signing Of Former BYU Star Elijah Bryant

PROVO, Utah – The Milwaukee Bucks have signed former BYU basketball guard Elijah Bryant. Milwaukee officially announced the signing on Thursday; the reported move has been in the works for the past week.

According to reports, Bryant is expected to sign a two-year contract with the Eastern Conference contenders. Bryant will wear the same No. 3 with the Milwaukee Bucks he wore during his career at BYU.
For the past three seasons, Bryant has been playing professionally in Israel. Most recently with Maccabi Tel-Aviv. During the 2020-21 season, Bryant is averaging 10.9 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists per game. He’s appeared in 100 games across Israeli Super League and EuroLeague action.
What the Milwaukee Bucks are getting in Elijah Bryant
One of the strongest attributes of Bryant’s game is his efficient shooting ability. Bryant is knocking down 64.6% of his shots from the field, 42% from three, and 82.9% at the free throw line. For a Bucks franchise that values high percentage shooters, Bryant appears to be a great fit in Milwaukee.

The Bucks have had their eyes on Bryant for quite some time. Bryant played for Milwaukee during the 2019 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. During one of his four appearances with the Summer League Bucks, Bryant dropped 31 points on the Minnesota Summer League squad.
In four games in the Summer League, Bryant averaged 14.3 points per game with the Bucks.
Bryant was a two-year star for BYU after transferring from Elon College, where he was the CAA Freshman of the Year in 2015. During Bryant’s junior year in 2017-18, he helped lead BYU to a 24-win season. He averaged 18.2 points and nearly reached the 50/40/90 mark for shooting percentages. Bryant shot 50% from the field, 43.2% from three, and 84.3% from the charity stripe.
