Jaxson Dart, Giants Lose Heartbreaker Behind Wild Broncos Comeback

DENVER — Former Roy and Corner Canyon High quarterback Jaxson Dart played a great game, but it wasn’t enough to stop the freight train fourth-quarter comeback led by the Denver Broncos.
Dart completed 15 of 33 pass attempts for 283 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. He also rushed five times for 11 yards and one TD.

Giants Fall Short Against Broncos In Denver
The first three quarters were owned by the Giants.
They punched in a touchdown in each quarter and held Bo Nix and the Denver offense scoreless along the way.
The tone was set early as Dart connected with Daniel Bellinger from 44 yards out.

That was on New York’s third drive. On drive No. 5, Cam Skattebo sealed the deal to make it 13-0.
Meanwhile, each of the first four Broncos drives ended in punts. The fifth drive broke that streak, but with a turnover on downs.

The third quarter was more of the same.
Two Denver punts and a Giants rushing score had New York leading 19-0 heading into the fourth.
But that is when the tables turned. Denver opened the final quarter with its first touchdown to make it 19-8. Things still seemed to be alright for New York as they responded with an unconventional touchdown of their own.

But the Broncos kept on charging.
Each of the next three Denver drives ended in six, while the Giants’ offense stalled out with an interception and a three-and-out.
In what felt like the blink of an eye, New York trailed 30-26. The rookie showed he had one last punch to throw, diving across the goal line with less than a minute left on the clock.

But 37 seconds proved to be too much time.
Denver executed the hurry-up offense perfectly, and booted a 39-yarder through the uprights to win, 33-32.
About Jaxson Dart
Dart was born in Kaysville, Utah, where he eventually attended Roy High School. He transferred to Corner Canyon before his senior season.
In 2020 with the Chargers, Dart threw for 4,691 yards and a state-record 67 touchdowns. As a four-star prospect, he committed to USC.
He played just six games with the Trojans, where he completed 117 of his 189 pass attempts for 1,353 yards, nine touchdowns, and five interceptions. On the ground, Dart ran the ball 22 times for 43 yards and two touchdowns.
Dart packed his bags and traded Los Angeles sunshine for the college football haven that is the SEC and Ole Miss.
He closed out his collegiate career playing in 39 games for the Rebels with 38 starts. He completed 735 of his 1118 attempts for 10,617 yards and 72 touchdowns.
Ole Miss went 28-10 with Dart at the helm, including a Peach Bowl win in 2024 and a Gator Bowl win in 2025.
Dart’s college accolades include Gator Bowl MVP, 2024 Conerly Trophy Winner, 2024 All-America Honorable Mention, 2024 All-SEC First Team, 2024 CFN SEC QB of the Year, 2024 Manning Award Finalist, and 2024 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award Finalist.
Dart completed 32-of-47 passes (68.1 percent) for 372 yards and three touchdowns in his first preseason, but more importantly, the rookie signal-caller did not commit a turnover in his first test against NFL defenses.
He entered the regular season as QB2 on the Giants’ depth chart. After a 0-3 start with Russell Wilson under center, the Giants gave Dart his first start in week four.
