SALT LAKE CITY – New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh said that “anything is possible” regarding his team’s quarterback situation moving forward.

The Jets beat the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, October 31.

Mike White started in place of former BYU quarterback Zach Wilson, who missed the game due to injury.

White led the Jets to a 34-31 victory.

After the game, Saleh was asked if White could a long-term solution for the Jets.

“We’ll go day-to-day but anything’s possible, right? Anything’s possible,” Saleh said. “It goes back to that whole theory of the difference between Player A and Player Z is an opportunity in reps. That’s what this league is. That’s professional sports. That’s why they come out of nowhere, someone gets an opportunity. And what Mike does with his opportunity is — he’s got the world in front of him. You just got to take advantage of it. ”

Wilson was selected by the Jets with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

The former BYU star suffered a knee injury during New York’s Week 7 loss.

Wilson’s stats for 2021 are 104/181 passing for a 57.5 completion rate, 1,168 yards, four touchdowns, and nine interceptions.

After the Jets’ victory, Wilson shared his support of White and the Jets.

“@MikeWhiteQB doing it all. JETS WIN,” Wilson tweeted.

On Halloween, White was 37/45 passing for 405 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions.

With the win, the Jets improved their record to 2-5 on the season.

New York’s next game is against the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday, November 4 at 6:20 p.m. (MDT). The game will be televised on FOX/NFL Network.
