Bradley, McGrew Lead Jazz Past Trail Blazers In Summer League Clash

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The Utah Jazz bounced back from their loss on Sunday to the Miami Heat to beat the Portland Trail Blazers 97-93 in NBA Summer League action.
Utah beat the Blazers despite the spectacular performance from Blazers guard Anfernee Simons, who will be entering his second NBA season. He dropped 35 points to go with his 6 rebounds, while shooting 13-for-18 from the field and 6-of-7 from downtown.
Tony Bradley led the Jazz with 17 points and 7 rebounds, including 6-for-14 from the field. Tanner McGrew added 17 points and 4 rebounds. All of his field goals came from the three-point line, hitting 5-for-8.
The Jazz held a two point lead with two minutes left in the game, but Simons made some big shots down the stretch. Down by one with 18 seconds left, Stanton Kidd hit a three-pointer to give the Jazz the lead. In the final moments, Miye Oni blocked Simons’ shot and he turned his ankle. The Jazz knocked down free throws and defeated the Trail Blazers.

Kidd finished with 11 points in 23 minutes. Josh Sharma contributed 13 points off the bench.
Two other Blazers reached double figures in scoring with Gary Trent Jr. dropping 12 points and 8 rebounds, and Gian Clavell chipping in 11.
Utah improves to 2-1 in Las Vegas and will finish preliminary play on Thursday against the Houston Rockets at 6:30 p.m. on ESPNU. Following the games on Thursday, the NBA Summer League will shift to a tournament style format.
