Conley, Gobert Connect On Pair Of Alley-Oop Dunks Against Bucks

SALT LAKE CITY – Jazz guard Mike Conley connected with NBA All-Star center Rudy Gobert for a pair of alley-oop slam dunks during Utah’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks.
The Jazz hosted the Bucks at Vivint Arena on Monday, March 14.
During the opening minutes of the second half, Conley and Gobert helped the Jazz regain the lead after connecting on a pair of highlight plays.
With 10:33 remaining in the third quarter, Conley lobbed the ball to a high-flying Gobert, who slammed the ball to cut Milwaukee’s lead to 68-64.

Less than two minutes later, Conley found Gobert above the rim for another slam dunk to give Utah a 69-69 lead.

The Conley-Gobert connections were part of a 13-0 run by Utah to start the second half.
At the buckets, Conley had 18 points, one rebound, four assists, and two steals. Gobert had 10 points and eight rebounds.
This season, Conley is averaging 13.2 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 5.2 assists. Gobert is recording 15.4 points, 14.7 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per contest.

Though the Jazz want to consider themselves championship contenders, they may not roll out a championship-worthy roster when they host Milwaukee.
Rudy Gobert was listed as questionable against the Bucks after missing Saturday’s win with an injured big toe on his left foot.
Bojan Bogdanovic meanwhile wasn’t listed on the team’s injury report Sunday but didn’t go through shootaround Monday morning due to a left calf strain. Bogdanovic played Saturday night after missing Friday’s game in San Antonio with a leg bruise.
Bucks Bringing Back Key Piece
While the Jazz were unsure of who would be available against Milwaukee, the Bucks welcomed back a key piece of their championship roster in Brook Lopez.

Lopez hadn’t played since opening night, underwent back surgery in early December, and has been rehabilitating the injury over the last three months.
Without Lopez, the Bucks defense had fallen outside of the top 10 in the NBA this season for the first time under coach Mike Budenholzer.
Former Jazzman George Hill is expected to return to the Bucks lineup after missing the last 16 games with neck soreness.
Despite the injuries, the Bucks own the second-best record in the East behind the Miami Heat.
