Donovan Mitchell, Mike Conley Listed As Questionable Before Game Six

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Jazz didn’t get good news as they travel to face the Los Angeles Clippers in game six of their second-round playoff series. Mike Conley, who is once again listed as questionable after missing the last five games with a strained hamstring is now joined by Donovan Mitchell who is also listed as questionable due to his right ankle sprain.
Mitchell has been a dominant scorer in the playoffs averaging 31.6 points per outing over the last nine games but was clearly hobbled by his ankle injury in the team’s game five loss in Salt Lake City.
The All-Star guard scored just 21 points, his fewest of the playoffs while connecting on 6-19 shots from the field, his worst efficiency of the postseason.

With Mitchell nowhere near 100 percent, the Clippers’ defense has been able to key in on the guard, preventing dribble penetration, and limiting his ability to make plays for his teammates.
“Donovan is obviously playing through a lot of pain,” Jazz coach Quin Snyder said before the team left for L.A. “He’s doing everything he can to generate some of those opportunities for us.”
The guard was forced to settle for 14 three-point attempts in game five while getting just three shots in the paint. Earlier in the series, Mitchell was able to propel the Jazz to victory by getting past the Clippers’ perimeter defense, and either scoring at the rim, or finding his teammates for open shots.

Conley meanwhile said he could foresee returning before the series is over, but may run out of time if he doesn’t suit up in game six. The guard reaggravated a previous hamstring injury in the team’s game five victory over the Memphis Grizzlies and has yet to face the Clippers.
The Jazz and Clippers tip-off Friday at 8 pm MT, the game will be broadcast on ESPN.
