Donovan Mitchell Throws Down Ferocious Alley-Oop Against Nuggets

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell violently threw down an alley-oop dunk in Utah’s game against the Denver Nuggets.

Mitchell and the Jazz hosted Denver at Vivint Smart Home Arena on Wednesday, February 5.

Jazz guard Jordan Clarkson floated a pass towards the basket from beyond the arc. Mitchell bounced both of his Adidas D.O.N Issue #1 shoes off the Larry H. Miller court and into the air to receive the pass. After collecting the pass with both hands, Mitchell extended the ball with his right hand and thunderously throw the ball throw the hoop to give Utah an 82-78 lead with 9:03 left in the game.

The slam was Mitchell’s seventh made field goal of the game. Mitchell struggled to find the bottom of the basket during the first three quarters of play. The dunk gave him 16 points on 7-21 shooting against the Nuggets. He added 8 rebounds and 1 assist during his first 30 minutes on the floor.

Clarkson’s dish resulted in his first assist of the night. He led Utah’s bench with 16 points on 6-7 field goals including 2-3 from downtown. The guard added a rebound in 20 minutes of play.

After the dunk, the Jazz were shooting 42.7 percent compared to 43.8 percent by the Nuggets. Utah outshot Denver from three-point range shooting 38.9 percent compared to 23.1 percent by the Nuggets.
