Gobert Leads Jazz With Huge Rebounding Effort

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The matchup between Utah’s Rudy Gobert and Detroit’s Andre Drummond was supposed to be a matchup of two of the best rebounders in the NBA.
In the Jazz’s 100-94 victory over the Pistons, it was Gobert who got the better of Drummond with a monster game.
Gobert tied a career-high in rebounds with 25 while also scoring 18 points on the offensive end.

Gobert Was Excellent On The Defensive Glass
The Frenchman pulled down 22 defensive rebounds, exactly half of the Jazz’s entire team effort on defense.
“The other guys are making it a priority,” said Jazz head coach Quin Snyder of the team’s defensive rebounding. “Sometimes you don’t have to get it, you just have to not let them get it. So everybody’s finding something to do when the ball goes up.”

Gobert Complimentary Of Drummond
Drummond finished with a double-double of his own, though not nearly as impressive as Gobert’s. Drummond snagged 13 rebounds with 15 points in the Pistons loss as Gobert and the Jazz rolled to their fourth straight win.
“He’s the best rebounder in the league,” said Gobert of Drummond after the game. “It was a team effort. We had to come out ready and we did a great job tonight.
A ‘Dominant’ Effort By Gobert
Following the game, Jazz head coach Quin Snyder called Gobert’s effort “dominant.”
“Rudy’s contribution doesn’t always show up in the box score and tonight Rudy’s contribution showed up pretty highlighted,” said Snyder.
