Gobert, Mitchell Left Off All-Star Roster

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The NBA announced the reserves for both the Western and Eastern Conference All-Star teams without a single representative from the Utah Jazz.
It was thought that both Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert would make strong cases for being selected as All-Star reserves by the Western Conference’s head coaches, but alas, it didn’t happen for either player.

Gobert is in his fifth season in the NBA, all with the Jazz, and has yet to make an All-Star team. This season, the French-born center is averaging a career-high 15 points and 12.8 rebounds per game. He was honored last season as the NBA’s Defensive Player of the Year.
Mitchell took the NBA by storm last season as a rookie and finished as the runner up for the NBA’s Rookie of the Year award. After a slump in December, Mitchell has had a terrific January, averaging 27.7 points per game while leading Utah to an 11-4 record in the month.

The last Jazzman to be selected to the NBA All-Star Game was Gordon Hayward in the 2016-17 season.
The All-Star Game will take place on Feb. 17 at 6 p.m. from Charlotte, N.C.
