Jazz Shoot Ball Effectively, Get Back On Track Against Grizzlies

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Jazz had a strong shooting performance that got the team back in the win column against the Memphis Grizzlies.
After losing five of their previous six games, the Jazz soundly defeated the Grizzlies on Saturday, December 7.
Utah shot the ball at 56.3 percent on field goals and 55.9 percent from three-point range against the Grizzlies. The Jazz made 19 baskets from behind the arc on their way to a 126-112 win over Memphis.

The Jazz had seven players score in double figures including all five members of the starting lineup.
Donovan Mitchell led the Jazz with 22 points on 9-17 shooting and 2-4 from downtown.
Rudy Gobert and Joe Ingles each posted double-doubles in the win. Gobert had 19 points and 11 rebounds. Ingles posted 12 points and 10 assists.
Utah outrebounded the Grizzlies 41-28 and had 32 assists compared to Memphis’ 23.

The Jazz bench scored 40 points led by Jeff Green’s 19 points in 26 minutes. Green was 7-9 on field goals including 5-6 from behind the arc.

“When you make shots it makes it easier,” said Jazz head coach Quin Snyder after the win. “For us I think we need to have the focus on (the defensive) end.”
The Jazz held Memphis to 18 points in the second quarter but allowed 112 points overall. The Grizzlies shot 53.1 percent on field goals but only 28.6 on three-pointers.
The Jazz have allowed opponents to score 100 points or more in 14 of their past 16 games.
Another poor area for the Jazz was in the turnover department. Utah committed 22 turnovers which led to 33 points for the Grizzlies.
Memphis Jaren Jackson Jr. led the Grizzlies with 26 points.
The Jazz were without point guard Mike Conley who missed his second consecutive game with hamstring tightness.

Utah improved to 13-10 on the season and 9-2 at Vivint Smart Home Arena. The Jazz are 2-1 vs. the Grizzlies this season.
Memphis fell to 6-16 overall.
The Jazz host the Oklahoma City Thunder (9-12) on Monday, December 9 at 7 p.m. (MDT). The game with be broadcast on NBA League Pass, AT&T SportsNet, and 97.5 FM.
