Jazz Look To Snap Slump Against Hornets

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz will look to snap out of their two-game losing streak when they face the Charlotte Hornets tonight at Spectrum Center.
The Jazz have gone 1-2 to open their current six-game road trip and still have stops in Charlotte, Dallas, and Los Angeles to face the Clippers before returning to Utah.
The Hornets meanwhile had won five straight games before falling to the New York Knicks on Wednesday.
Jazz Face Important Weekend
The Jazz kick off the most important weekend of the season tonight when they face the Hornets before traveling to Dallas to take on the Mavericks.
Tonight will mark the final game on the road against an Eastern Conference opponent where the Jazz have gone 6-8 on the season.
The team then will begin their trek back west with a crucial stop in Dallas where the Mavericks have made up a two-game deficit in the standings over the last five days and sit even with the Jazz at 45-28, tied for the fourth seed in the West.

The Jazz beat the Hornets 112-102 in mid-December, though they were playing with a fuller roster than the one that will suit up in Charlotte.
Bojan Bogdanovic and Danuel House Jr. remain out for tonight’s make, marking the sixth straight absence for Bogdanovic, and the fifth straight game missed due to injury by House Jr.
Hornets Looking To Lock Up Play-In Game
While the Hornets are a near-lock to compete in one of the Eastern Conference’s play-in tournament games, they could dramatically improve their odds of qualifying for the playoffs over the final two weeks of the season.
Charlotte sits just one game back of the eighth-seeded Brookyln Nets, and one game ahead of the tenth-seeded Atlanta Hawks, and could find themselves landing in any of the three final seeds in the East.

If the Hornets were to leap the Nets into the eighth seed they’d need to win just one of their two play-in tournament games to qualify for the postseason.
If they remain in ninth or tenth place, they’ll have to win two games for the right to face the top seed in the East.
