CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Utah Jazz picked up their second straight win on the road with a 119-111 victory over the Charlotte Hornets.

In a game where they led wire-to-wire, the Jazz were fantastic shooting the ball. They flirted with the franchise record of 19 trifectas made by knocking down 18-of-40 from beyond the arc.

It was appropriate that they had a strong game from long range considering it was sharpshooter Kyle Korver’s season debut in a Jazz uniform.

Fast Start Leads To Win

The Jazz started the game firing on all cylinders. They jumped out to an 11-2 lead that was highlighted by a long-ranch alley-oop slam from Ricky Rubio to Donovan Mitchell.

Korver made his first appearance in his second stint in a Jazz uniform and knocked down his first 3-point attempt just 12 seconds into seeing the hardwood.

The first quarter ended with the Jazz holding a 33-19 advantage. In the quarter, the Jazz hit five 3-pointers and Donovan Mitchell had 10 points.

Charlotte responded by opening the second quarter on a 14-2 run but the Jazz still held a 57-53 advantage going into the second half.

Jae Crowder sparked the Jazz with a terrific third quarter where he went 3-for-3 with two 3-pointers made for a total of 10 points. He would finish the game with 24 points with six 3-pointers made. His strong period gave the Jazz a 91-83 lead going into the fourth, where they would hold on for the victory.

Jazz Stars Played Well

Mitchell finished with 30 points while Rudy Gobert also had a great outing with 13 points and 17 rebounds for a double-double. Korver turned in 14 points on 5-of-7 shooting with four 3-pointers made.

3-Point Shooting Was ‘Contagious’

When asked if the 3-point shooting was contagious, Korver affirmed that claim wholeheartedly.

“Shooting is totally that way,” said Korver. “When someone misses a bunch in a row, it feels like everyon starts missing. When guys start making, the team starts making. It’s a lot of fun when you have a lot of shooters out there. Jae was hot, Joe had a couple big ones, so it was fun.”
