Jazz Rookie Trent Forrest Hits Leaning Fadeaway To Beat Shot Clock Against Nuggets

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Jazz rookie Trent Forrest beat the shot clock with a fadeaway jump shot during the opening quarter of Utah’s game against the Denver Nuggets.

The Jazz hosted the Nuggets on Friday, May 7.

With 4:55 remaining in the first quarter and the Jazz offense stalled on a possession, Forrest received a pass from Jordan Clarkson with little time left on the 24-second shot clock.

Forrest leaned to the right and faded back to avoid a Denver defender before launching a jumper.

The guard’s shot went through the cylinder as the shot clock expired.

Forrest’s bucket was his second make in less 40 seconds. He entered the contest at the 5:53 mark in the quarter.

The jumper gave Forrest four points on 2-2 shooting.

At the end of the quarter, the Jazz trailed the Nuggets, 41-40.

During the opening 12 minutes of game time, Forrest had four points on 2-3 field goals. He also dished out two assists in four minutes on the court.

This season, Forrest is averaging 2.1 points per game on 48.8 percent shooting. He’s appeared in 25 games.
