SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Jazz blew out the Sacramento Kings 119-98 to win their seventh straight game.

The Jazz opened the game on a 18-3 run and never looked back on their way to a wire-to-wire win, their third victory over Sacramento this season.

With three games left to play in the regular season, the Jazz’s record stands at 49-30.

Once again the Jazz were heavily shorthanded going into the game. Derrick Favors, Kyle Korver and Raul Neto all joined Dante Exum on the sidelines due to injury. The list of injured Jazzmen was extended midway through the first quarter when Ricky Rubio was forced out of the game with a quad contusion.

Allen Shines In First Half

Prior to the game, head coach Quin Snyder said that the injuries would create opportunities for other guys to step up. None did that more against Sacramento than rookie Grayson Allen.

After checking into the game midway through the first quarter, Allen was on fire, offering his best performance yet as a pro. He knocked down all eight of his shots in the first half for a total of 19 points, setting a new career high after just 10 minutes of playing time.

Allen finished the game with 23 points on 10-for-14 shooting.

By The Numbers

Joe Ingles also shot the ball well, finishing with 17 points with five 3-pointers made.

Donovan Mitchell tied Allen’s effort with 23 points and nearly completed a double-double with nine assists.

Rudy Gobert had a solid showing in his first game after the team unveiled a stylish campaign to help the French big man in his bid for a second straight defensive player of the year honor. He turned in a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds.

Buddy Hield led the Kings with 17 points while Marvin Bagley III turned a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Next Up

The Jazz will hit the road to face the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday. The game will tip off at 7:30 p.m. and be broadcast on AT&T SportsNet.
