Jazz Facing Timberwolves Twice In A Row

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Jazz will face the Minnesota Timberwolves in consecutive games before hosting the Golden State Warriors and New Orleans Pelicans.
Utah will play Minnesota in back-to-back games on Monday, November 18 and Wednesday, November 20.
The Jazz will host the T-Wolves in the first matchup while the second game will be played in Minneapolis.
Jazz guard Dante Exum is expected to make his season debut this week after recovering from a knee injury he suffered late last season.
Timberwolves vs. Jazz
Minnesota visits Utah for the first of two games on Monday. The Wolves have been without guard Andrew Wiggins for their past two games, both losses. Wiggins is the team’s second-leading scorer with 25.9 points per game. The Timberwolves guard is doubtful for at least the first game against Utah due to personal reasons.

Karl-Anthony Towns leads the Wolves offense averaging 26.8 points per game.
The Jazz were 3-1 against the Timberwolves during the 2018-19 season. The loss came in the first meeting between the two squads in Minnesota.

Warriors vs. Jazz
This will be the second meeting of the regular season between the two teams. Utah visited the Bay Area on November 11 and won 122-108. Rudy Gobert dominated the “Dubs” scoring 25 points on 11-12 field goals. He recorded 14 rebounds and 2 blocks in the win.

Donovan Mitchell poured in 23 points while Mike Conley added 22 to the Jazz’s total.
Golden State will arrive in Utah with a depleted roster. The Warriors aren’t the same Warriors that appeared in the last five NBA Finals. Steph Curry (broken hand) and Klay Thompson (knee) are currently out with injuries. Draymond Green has been banged up this season as well. All-star Kevin Durant is now with the Brooklyn Nets.
The new-look “Dubs” feature all-star D’Angelo Russell who will miss the Jazz matchup due to a sprained right thumb.
Utah will see a familiar face on November 22 in Golden State guard Alec Burks. Burks played the first 7.5 seasons of his NBA career with the Jazz. He was traded from Utah to Cleveland in the middle of the 2018-19 season. Burks signed with Warriors during the 2019 free agency period.
The Jazz went 1-2 against the Warriors last season including 1-1 at Vivint Smart Home Arena.

Pelicans vs. Jazz
New Orleans will face Utah for the first time in the regular season. The Pelicans defeated the Jazz 128-127 in the preseason.
This season begins a new era for the Pelicans after they traded all-star forward/center Anthony Davis to the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Pelicans are currently riddled with injuries. Before their game against the Warriors on Sunday, November 17, New Orleans listed nine players on their team injury report.
Former Jazzman Derrick Favors will make his first regular-season return to Utah in the matchup. The Jazz traded the forward to New Orleans in July 2019. Favors spent 8.5 seasons with Utah after the Jazz traded for the forward during his rookie season with New Jersey.

The Jazz were 2-1 against the Pelicans during the 2018-19 regular season. Utah lost to New Orleans at home in SLC but won both games in “The Bayou”.

Winning Streak Snapped
The Jazz are fresh off a loss on the road to Mike Conley’s former squad. The Grizzlies defeated Utah 107-106 in Conley’s first game back at FedEx Forum.
Utah was previously on a four-game winning streak that featured victories over the Philadelphia 76ers, Milwaukee Bucks, Golden State Warriors, and Brooklyn Nets.
The Jazz have scored more than 103 points in each of their last five games. However, Utah’s defense has allowed the opponent to post more than 100 points in the past seven games.
