SALT LAKE CITY – Jazz guard Jordan Clarkson made an amazing defensive play before showing off his scoring ability during Utah’s game against the San Antonio Spurs.

The Spurs hosted the Jazz at AT&T Center on Friday, March 11.

With 6:17 left in the fourth quarter, Spurs guard Keldon Johnson attempted to score on a fast break. Clarkson snagged the ball out of Johnson’s hands as the Spurs guard attempted to go up towards the hoop.

Clarkson dribbled the ball to the other end of the court and connected on a tough layup while getting fouled. Clarkson was unable to complete a potential three-point play at the free throw line but his layup gave the Jazz an 84-80 lead with 6:07 to go.

Midway through the quarter, Clarkson had 17 points on 7-14 shooting, including 2-7 from beyond the arc. Clarkson added eight rebounds, one steal, and a block in 24 minutes of action.

This season, Clarkson is averaging 15.4 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game.

Jazz vs. Spurs

With 17 games left in the regular season, the fourth-seeded Jazz will be closely monitoring the playoff of the Dallas Mavericks who sit in the fifth seed.

Dallas trails the Jazz by just a game and a half, and with another meeting between the two teams set for March 27, every game will be crucial for the standings.

The Jazz are 5-2 since returning from the All-Star break but will be missing a key cog as they look to build on their recent success.

Bogdanovic, who will miss Friday’s game, is on a historic shooting streak for the Jazz. The forward had knocked down a franchise-record 21 three-pointers in his three previous games, the most by any Jazzman over a three-game stretch.

Bogdanovic had also led the Jazz in scoring in each of their three previous games.

Utah’s game against San Antonio is broadcast on AT&T SportsNet, NBA League Pass, and The Zone Sports Network.
