National NBA Pundits Compare Donovan Mitchell To Dwyane Wade

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – As the United States men’s basketball team prepares for the 2019 FIBA World Cup in China, Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell has been the talk around the team as a standout in training camp.
National NBA experts have compared Mitchell to Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade, who just retired this past season.
It’s a comparison that has followed Mitchell since he was drafted, but it’s looking more and more like a reality that he could be the next Dwyane Wade in the NBA.

After Mitchell’s first season in the NBA, he averaged 20.5 points per game, while Wade posted 16.2 as a rookie after the 2003-04 season.
In their second seasons, Mitchell recorded 23.8 points per game and Wade had a 24.1 per game average. That’s very similar.
If Mitchell has a career remotely close to Wade’s, he will be a first ballot Hall of Famer.
Wade finished his 16-year career averaging 22 points per game.
Mitchell and Wade have a friendship that started during Mitchell’s career where the Jazz star has had many conversations with Wade lasting hours as Mitchell picked the brain of the three-time NBA champion.
