Reports: Jazz Sign F Ed Davis To Two-Year Deal

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Utah Jazz have agreed to a two-year contract with free agent forward Ed Davis.
The deal is worth $10 million over the two seasons, which would use up the Jazz’s mid-level exception. Free agents cannot sign their contracts until July 6, when the new league year begins.
Davis recently played with the Brooklyn Nets for one season.

He fills the void left by Derrick Favors, who will likely have his team option declined when the Jazz agreed to terms with Bojan Bogdanovic.
Davis is a great rebounder and is a physical post presence who can play alongside Rudy Gobert if needed or even be the backup center.
The North Carolina product was drafted 13th overall in the 2010 NBA Draft to the Toronto Raptors. After two and a half seasons with the Raptors, Davis was traded to Memphis, where he would spend the next season and a half with future Jazzman Mike Conley and the Grizzlies.
During the 2014-15 season, Davis spent one season with the Los Angeles Lakers followed by the next three seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers.
Through his nine NBA seasons, Davis has averaged 6.5 points and 6.8 rebounds. Last season in Brooklyn, he posted 5.8 points, a career-high 8.6 rebounds and shot 61 percent from the field in 18 minutes per game. He appeared in 81 games last season.
