Thurl Bailey Hangs With Henry Winkler At The Chiefs Game

SALT LAKE CITY – Thurl Bailey had a chance run-in with Henry Winkler at the Kansas City Chiefs game on Sunday night.
Bailey was in Southern California as the Utah Jazz prepare to face the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday night, and had the opportunity to take in the Sunday Night Football game between the Los Angeles Chargers and the Chiefs.
The former Jazz forward and television color analyst shared a photo with Winkler after the game.

Winkler is famous for playing Arthur “Fonzie” Fonzarelli on Happy Days and has since had a long career in film and TV.
Most recently, Winkler has been featured in HBO’s “Barry” as acting coach
Winkler was in San Diego to watch Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes face the Chargers.

Before the game, Winkler met Mahomes and was presented with a signed Chiefs jersey.
“I think that I just met one of my heroes,” Winkler said. “He was so genuine. I think that he is exactly the same in life as he lives with the intensity on the field.”
Winkler couldn’t have been disappointed with Mahomes performance Sunday night. The Chiefs superstar threw for 329 yards and three touchdowns, leading Kansas City to a come-from-behind victory in the final minutes of the fourth quarter.
Mahomes completed 20-34 passing attempts and scrambled for 23 yards.
The Career Of Thurl Bailey
Bailey played college basketball at North Carolina State where the Wolfpack beat Houston for the 1983 NCAA Title.
After college, the Utah Jazz drafted Bailey with the seventh pick in the first round of the 1983 NBA Draft.

During his NBA career, Bailey spent 10 seasons with the Jazz over two stints appearing in 708 games. The forward averaged 12.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.4 assists during his career in Utah.
Bailey replaced former Jazz forward Matt Harpring on the television broadcast in 2021 working alongside Craig Bolerjack and Holly Rowe.
