Utah Jazz sign Kennedy Chandler to 10-day contract

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz have signed guard Kennedy Chandler to a 10-day contract.
ESPN’s Shams Charania first reported the signing on Friday, but the transaction wasn’t made official until Saturday.
“The Utah Jazz are signing NBA G League assists leader Kennedy Chandler to a 10-day contract out of the NBA G League, agent Ryan Davis of WME Basketball tells ESPN,” Charania wrote on social media. “Chandler returns to the NBA after playing his 2022-23 rookie campaign in Memphis as a second-round pick.”

Kennedy Chandler signs 10-day deal with Utah Jazz
Chandler joins the Jazz after spending the last three seasons in the G League.
A former five-star recruit, the point guard played one season of college basketball at Tennessee before declaring for the 2022 NBA Draft.
The guard averaged 13.9 points, 4.7 assists, and 3.2 rebounds while shooting 46 percent from the floor and 38 percent in his lone season with the Volunteers.

Chandler was selected by the San Antonio Spurs, but was traded to Memphis in a draft-night swap.
Chandler appeared in 38 games for the Grizzlies as a rookie before landing in the G League.
The 23-year-old has played for the Memphis Hustle, the Long Island Nets, and the Raptors 905 before joining the Delaware Blue Coats for the 2025-26 season.
The Tennessee native averaged 16.6 points and 9.7 assists with the Blue Coats this season in 34 appearances before signing with the Jazz.
Andersson Garcia sees 10-day contract expire
Chandler will fill the roster spot left open by Andersson Garcia, whose 10-day contract expired on Friday.
Garcia made five appearances with the Jazz during his 10-day contract, averaging 5.2 points, 8.4 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.6 steals, and 0.8 blocks in 33.8 minutes per contest.
The athletic wing made two starts in his short stint with the team, including playing all 48 minutes in the Jazz’s win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday.

The 25-year-old played five seasons of college basketball, beginning his career with Mississippi State in 2020 before transferring to Texas A&M as a junior, where he played his final three seasons.
Garcia was named to the SEC All-Defensive Team in 2024 and has built on that reputation in the G League.
The Dominican Republic native has averaged 9.8 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.3 steals in 25.3 minutes per game with the Capitanes.
