Wahlin, a former standout at Timpview High School, was once committed to the BYU program when Mark Pope was the head coach. After returning home from his Latter-day Saint mission, he ended up at the University of Utah. Then transferring to Clemson, and now he’s made his way back to Provo to close out his college career for the Cougars.
Wahlin joins Collin Chandler as the second player who was once committed to the Cougars out of high school, who is now back in the fold in Provo.
Wahlin has strong connections to BYU. His father, Rick, played football for the Cougars in the 1980s.

Coming out of high school, Wahlin noted that it was a dream to play for the BYU basketball program.
Wahlin is a 6-foot-10, 210-pound forward who averaged 5.3 points, 3.9 rebounds, and shot 40.3% from the field this past season for the Tigers.
The addition of Wahlin gives BYU a college veteran and someone who could immediately contend as a stretch four in the starting lineup.
Wahlin is the third portal commitment for BYU in the 2026 cycle, joining Chandler and Syracuse forward Tyler Betsey.
