Governor Of Utah Passes Out Ice Cream To West Virginia Fans At BYU Game

PROVO, Utah – State of Utah Governor Spencer Cox was in Provo on Friday night, taking part in a time-honored BYU tradition.
The Governor and First Lady Abby Cox joined BYU President Shane Reese, Vice President Keith Vorhink, and others to give away BYU Creamery ice cream bars to visiting fans.
No. 23 BYU is hosting West Virginia at LaVell Edwards Stadium on Friday, October 3.

The Cougars controlled the first half, jumping out to a 14-0 lead on the back of two Parker Kingston touchdowns.
Leading 14-3, QB Bear Bachmneier delivered a laser to Chase Roberts. Roberts did the rest, pulling away from the defense for an 85-yard catch and run. LJ Martin finished the possession with his second rushing score of the year.
West Virginia forced a turnover that set up a short field late in the second quarter. The Mountaineers capitalized on a Diore Hubbard rushing TD.

Bachmeier bounced right back with his fourth passing play of 35 yards or more to put his team in scoring position on a two-minute drill.
The true freshman finished the final drive of the half with a two-yard plunge for a 28-10 halftime lead.
