9/11 Tributes At BYU/Utah Game Highlighted By Flyover

PROVO, Utah – Throughout the college football landscape, the tributes to commemorate the 9/11 anniversary has poured in from coast to coast. The rivalry game between BYU and Utah was no different in Provo, Utah.

Before the 95th meeting of the rivalry game featuring two programs anointed with Power Five labels, fans in attendance witnessed a powerful display above them in the air.
Two F-15E Strike Eagles flew above LaVell Edwards Stadium to commemorate the tragic events 20 years ago on September 11th, 2001.

Three of the pilots in the two strike fighters were BYU graduates. The other was an alum from the University of Utah.

They flew into the night sky after a tribute to 9/11 that played on the BYU’s new video board in the south endzone. The video footage showed clips from the World Trade Center, Pentagon, and Pennsylvania, the site of United Flight 93 with a message, “From one of our nation’s darkest days … We came together.”
BYU hosts No. 21 ranked Utah in Provo. Kickoff is set for 8:15 p.m. (MT) on ESPN and KSL NewsRadio.
