How Former BYU QB Jake Heaps Performed On NBC’s ‘American Ninja Warrior’

SALT LAKE CITY – Former BYU football quarterback Jake Heaps, was on NBC’s American Ninja Warrior.
Heaps appeared on the show’s fifth episode of season 13. The final episode for qualifiers in the 13th season.

American Nina Warrior shot all of their qualifiers in the Tacoma Dome in Washington, a place where Heaps as a blue-chip high school prospect led his high school team, Sammamish to three Washington state titles.
Unfortunately for Heaps, he didn’t have that level of success in American Ninja Warrior.
When the former BYU, Kansas, Miami Hurricanes, and NFL quarterback came out on the stage, he showed off that silky, smooth passing ability that once made him the nation’s number one quarterback recruit.
Heaps is currently a quarterback coach for Super Bowl Champion Russell Wilson at the Russell Wilson Passing Academy. The Seattle Seahawks star made a cameo before Heaps took on the ANW course to lend some advice.
“Listen, don’t slip. Don’t trip, don’t fall,” Russell Wilson told Heaps.

Heaps made it through Shrinking Steps and then swung his way via rope to the next obstacle. Unfortunately, that’s where it came crashing down for Heaps.
The obstacle was “Double Down,” a fixture on the American Ninja Warrior circuit. Heaps tried to push through, but ultimately he landed in the water, ending his run at American Ninja Warrior glory.
A total of 42 people participated in the qualifiers during episode five, with only 18 completing the six obstacles on the course. Heaps was one of the 24 who was eliminated.
Along with working alongside a Super Bowl Champion QB, Heaps also works for 710 ESPN in Seattle as a football analyst for the flagship station of the Seattle Seahawks.
