BYU Baseball Manager Announces New Video Board For Miller Park

PROVO, Utah – BYU baseball is getting an upgrade at Miller Park.

Ninth-year manager Mike Littlewood posted on his personal Instagram that BYU baseball’s home venue of Miller Park will be getting a new video board.

“After the Rona is gone there will be a great addition right here at Miller Park #GoCougs #HD4K,” Littlewood wrote.

He shared a picture of the right-field fence with an outline of where the video board will go.

The addition of the video board will be the second major upgrade to Miller Park in recent years. In 2018, BYU athletics installed a state-of-the-art synthetic turf with a heating and drainage system installed underneath the playing surface at Miller Park.

Having that field has allowed Littlewood’s rising BYU program to schedule more home games in late February and early March. Along with consistent practicing in the fall semester.

Miller Park, named after former Utah Jazz owner Larry H. Miller, opened in 2001. Since its opening 20 years ago, the 2,710-seat stadium has never had a video board. There’s a scoreboard currently beyond the fence in left field but has no video for instant replays.

BYU Baseball opens the 2021 season on February 19th with a four-game series against Texas State in San Marcos, Texas. The Cougars will stay in the Lone Star State, where they will then face preseason top-10 Texas Longhorns in Austin for a four-game set.

Last season, BYU finished with a 7-9 record before the season was abruptly shut down to the novel coronavirus pandemic.
