PROVO, Utah – BYU football fans will have to wait longer to find out the kickoff and TV info for the upcoming trip to West Virginia.

That’s because the Big 12 Conference designed the November 4 tilt in Morgantown between BYU and West Virginia as a “Six-Day Selection.”

BYU Football at West Virginia receives “Six-Day Selection” hold

A six-day selection is common in the Big 12 and other Power Five leagues. So, the kickoff time and TV info will be announced this weekend on Saturday night or Sunday morning.

The Big 12 Conference designated five of the seven conference games for Week 10 with a six-day selection.

Only one game received TV and kickoff info. That was UCF at Cincinnati, which will be played on FS1 at 1:30 p.m. (MT).

The other game with a kickoff selection is TCU/Texas Tech, known before the season started, as it will be played on Thursday, November 2, at 5 p.m. (MT) on FS1.

Looking at the possible kick times, TV slots

Some potential windows for Big 12 games under the current TV contract include a pair of 10 a.m. (MT) kickoffs on either ABC or FOX. The 1:30 p.m. slot is also open for November 4 on ABC and ESPN.

But the ACC, who put some of their November 4 games on a six-day hold, will also have an opportunity to fill ESPN/ABC spots.

There are also night windows at 5 p.m. (MT) on ESPN2, FOX, and FS1.

The last option would be a paywall stream on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.

BYU/West Virginia history on the gridiron

BYU football has never traveled to Morgantown before. It’s another unique matchup caused by BYU being a new member of the Big 12 Conference.

BYU and West Virginia have only had one previous meeting. That was in 2016, Kalani Sitake’s first season as the BYU head coach.

West Virginia won that neutral field game at FedEx Field in Landover, Maryland, 35-32.

BYU football boasts a 5-2 record overall and 2-2 in the Big 12. West Virginia, who was picked last in the Big 12 preseason poll, jumped out to a hot 2-0 start to conference play but has since dropped its previous two. The Mountaineers are 4-3 overall.

Both teams go on the road this week in Big 12 action. BYU will face No. 7 Texas in Austin, while West Virginia will face UCF in Orlando.
