BYU Starts Second Half With Impressive TD Catch By WR Gunner Romney

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – After scoring 31 points in the first half, BYU started the second half strong with a 45-yard touchdown catch by Gunner Romney from Zach Wilson.

The duo connected previously on the drive for a 33-yard gain. Wilson threw his second touchdown of the game to put BYU up 38-0 over Navy with 13:05 remaining in the third quarter.
It’s Romney’s 5th career receiving touchdown. Last season, the Chandler, Arizona native had 31 receptions for 377 yards and two touchdowns.
Wilson also threw a 15-yard touchdown in the first half to Lopini Katoa.

Lopini Katoa started the series with a 5-yard run. Wilson threw a 33 yard pass to Romney to put BYU in Navy territory. Chris Jackson ran the ball for no gain on first down before Romney took the 45-yard TD to the house.
To that point, Wilson completed 12 of his 17 pass attempts for 189 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. Romney had 3 receptions for 91 yards and one score.

BYU’s running game was strong in the first half and into the third quarter. Tyler Allgeier racked up 115 yards on 11 carries and one touchdown. Katoa added 9 rush attempts for 72 yards and two scores.
