LJ Martin Scores BYU’s Only Touchdown In Big 12 Championship

ARLINGTON, Texas – BYU started strong with an LJ Martin touchdown on the opening drive, but quickly ceded momentum in a 34-7 blowout loss to Texas Tech in the Big 12 Championship.
The Cougars (11-1, 8-1 Big 12) gave up 34 consecutive points in a disappointing loss to the Red Raiders.

LJ Martin gives BYU an early lead with fourth TD in last two games
The BYU offense took over after a Texas Tech punt and drove 90 yards in 14 plays, exerting its will on the vaunted Red Raiders’ defensive front.
LJ Martin was the bellcow back on the drive, catching two passes for 18 yards and adding four runs for another 18 yards and the touchdown.

Bear Bachmeier completed four of six passes on the opening drive, looking cool, calm, and collected in the first postseason start for the true freshman.
The Cougars went 50 percent on trick plays, benefiting when Parker Kingston completed a pass to Carsen Ryan for 22 yards.
BYU’s touchdown was the first time the Red Raiders allowed points on the opening drive this season and marked only the third time TTU had trailed in 2025.
