BYU Track & Field Sending Six To Nationals From One Event

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The BYU Track & Field team will be well represented at nationals in the 10,000m race with six Cougars advancing from the NCAA West Preliminary Round.
All-American Rory Linkletter won the race with a time of 28:59.43. It’s the second year in a row that Linkletter will advance to the nationals.
Overall, six BYU competitors placed in the top 12 to qualify for nationals, while setting an NCAA record of the most men advancing in one event. Fellow All-Americans Connor McMillan’s 29:00.49 time finished in fourth and Conner Mantz’s 29:00.50 time was good enough for fifth place.
Clayton Young finished in eighth place with a time of 29:00.77, Dallin Farnsworth took 10th with a 29:01.08 time and Connor Weaver was 11th with a time of 29:02.15.
The 2019 NCAA Track and Field Championship will take place in Austin, Texas from June 5-8.

Other BYU Track and Field athletes that qualified for nationals include Andrea Stapleton-Johnson, who placed fifth in the women’s high jump.
