Beer For BYU: Tennessee To Start Alcohol Sales In September

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee announced on Friday that they would be implementing alcohol sales at Neyland Stadium for football games. The first game the Vols will be starting their alcohol sales program will be against none other than BYU on Saturday, September 7th.
The Vols have a home game a week before the matchup against BYU, but the Vols Athletic Department wants to use the opportunity against Georgia State the week prior on August 31st as an educational opportunity to explain the new alcohol rules at Neyland.
With BYU being the No. 1 Stone-Cold Sober school for the last 22 years, social media has had some fun with the announcement that Tennessee will be debuting alcohol sales against the Cougars.

Tennessee Athletic Director and former head football coach Phillip Fulmer made the announcement of alcohol sales at Neyland, “The game day experience at Neyland Stadium is historic and unrivaled, and I’m confident these new concessions options will aid our continued efforts to enhance that experience for Tennessee fans and visitors throughout the stadium.”
September 7th will mark the first-ever meeting between BYU and Tennessee. The game will kick off at 5 p.m. (MDT) and will be televised on ESPN. The BYU radio broadcast can be heard on KSL Newsradio.
