He appeared in 20 games this season with many reports stating that he had some issues with head coach Dave Rose and the program and wasn’t happy with his situation in Provo.
Hardnett dealt with a hand injury, that forced him to miss multiple games before re-injuring his hand against Portland, forcing him to miss the rest of the season.
This season, he averaged 9.7 points per game, while starting 15 games. He spent two seasons with BYU after transferring from Chipola College.
BYU was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the West Coast Conference Tournament on Saturday with an 80-57 loss to San Diego.
The Cougars have some players joining the program next season, which include Taylor Miller from Las Vegas, who is returning from a church mission. They will also get Gonzaga transfer Jesse Wade next year.
