Ghanwoloku Named One Of College Football’s Most Versatile Players

PROVO, Utah – BYU defensive back Dayan Ghanwoloku was named to the Paul Hornung Award Honor Roll for Week 3 following his performance against USC. The defensive back was honored by the Paul Hornung Award as one of the most versatile players in college football during the third week of the college football season.
The Paul Hornung Award is given to to the most versatile player in college football at the conclusion of the season.
Ghanwoloku was responsible for two of the biggest plays for the Cougars during the overtime period of their upset of 24th ranked USC on Saturday, September 14.

Ghanwoloku came over to the offensive side of the football early in the game and scored BYU’s first touchdown against the Trojans.
The DB’s most memorable play of the game came during overtime after BYU had taken a 30-27 lead. USC had possession of the football with the opportunity to tie the game with a field goal or win it with a touchdown.
After two plays, the Trojans were looking to convert a 3rd & 6. USC QB Kedon Slovis threw a pass that was intercepted by Ghanwoloku at the BYU 21 and the game was over.

BYU’s next game is against the 23rd ranked Washington Huskies. The Cougars host UW on Saturday, September 21 at 1:30 p.m. (MDT). The game will be on KSL NewsRadio 1160 AM and 102.7 FM.
